Taking of your makeup after a long and busy day can be very annoying and tiring. However, it’s important to take care of your skin in order to keep it healthy and young. Maybe you are not aware of the consequences, but just because they are not visible that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist.
What Are Circadian Rhythms?
They are a biological process that manifests during the period of 24 hours. Our body lowers its temperature and blood pressure while we sleep. It reduces the production of hormones as well.
Thus, our body takes advantage of that period to heal and repair all the damages that occurred during the day. Obviously, the skin is a part of that process too.
What Happens to Your Makeup During Sleep?
If you leave makeup during the night, it can prevent new skin cells to get to the surface due to the trapped old ones. It can create a lack of radiance and your skin will look older and rougher.
Hence, the skin is not able to regenerate because of the barrier that makeup creates. It can clog pores and enhance imperfections and granites.
How to Create a Perfect Skincare Routine?
- Make sure that you always have a good make-up remover close by. That way, you can remove your makeup and moisturise your skin at the same time due to its texture.
- After you removed your makeup, use lotion and tonic (or micellar water) to clean the skin. It will remove dead skin cells and replace them with new ones. Also, lotion combined with tonic will clear the impurities.
- In order to end up with a radiant and youthful skin, use a nocturnal treatment to finish up. It will enhance the repair of your skin and give it a nice glow.
Don’t scrub your face. Use gentle movements with your fingertips. Also, make sure that you use warm water. Afterwards, pat it dry.
If you exfoliate, you may irritate your skin if it’s sensitive. Therefore, try to find products that don’t contain alcohol or acid. Instead, go for ingredients such as oats, aloe and chamomile. The more natural content-the healthier your skin will be.
